I have another paper to present at the end of the month in Sydney Law School, the last one Insya Allah for the year. I am aiming for the ASLI conference next year in Singapore, but the Abstract will not be due till December and the conference itself will be held in May 2012.
For the one in Sydney, the paper is due next Thursday. I thought I would have more than enough time to finalize it once I am back from Seoul. But it turned out that Allah have other plans for all of us here in Melbourne. Life, nevertheless must go on. I now have less than 3 days to put everything together. Sempat ker ni hu..hu..hu..:-)
Alhamdulillah, the presentation will only take 15 minutes and does not have to follow closely the whole content of the paper. This means, I can concentrate on bringing meaning to the presentation and then writing the paper to give a little bit of context and details to the whole presentation. I am basically trying to argue that there is a need to have an increase lawyers’ participation or role in mandatory mediation for parties with a ‘high risk’ profile.
In order to bring out this argument, I need to highlight the scope of that ‘participation’ or ‘role’ and when such participation and role arises. 15 minutes seem such a short time to discuss them. But at the end of the day, I am hoping to deliver those arguments and get feedback from the audience. Allahumma yasirli…Amin.
